REFORM – What it means to me

With our next REFORM phase – CHARGE – starting on 9th August, we thought it was time to take a look back and reflect on what REFORM means to our community. So, what better way than to take a moment to catch up with a few of them? 

Below, 3 of our members join us to share what they love about REFORM. 

Ben Eaton  

Community Spirit and Continuous Improvement  

I started at FORM looking for more structure and accountability as I could never really push myself to achieve anything in the gym. FORM has given me that and more. I keep coming back because there’s a real community spirit that encourages you to continuously improve. 

More than that, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my strength, overall health and wellbeing, plus a big boost to my personal self-esteem. 

Everyone’s welcome  

What sets FORM aside is its inclusivity, and the incredible lengths the team goes to in order to cater to different body types and goals. This makes for an extremely positive training environment.

I come to FORM because it is a safe, non-judgemental environment with no mirrors and a bunch of lovely people in a great location with amazing facilities. 

It’s all laid out for me. 

What I love about it is that I don’t have to think or plan AT ALL! Literally, everything is planned and laid out for me.  

If I don’t choose heavy enough weights, these guys tell me! And there is absolutely no chance I am getting my technique wrong under their watchful eye! 

REFORM might be a group environment but with a max 1:4 PT to REFORMer ratio, it’s a PT session but a fraction of the cost! 

Results that last 

I’m chuffed that I lost 15lb during my first REFORM 8-week camp, but the thing I learned the most is how to keep it off!

It’s easy… Eat less and move more! 

The thing I’m most proud of and grateful for is keeping it off for 2 years. 

Transformation – inside and out 

The sessions themselves are amazing and well worth the money but the real value I’ve had is the education from all the coaches at FORM. 

My relationship with food and the scales has been drastically transformed! I’ve also got much stronger through being pushed to my limits and focusing on progressive overload instead of just cranking out the same workouts all the time. 

I am stronger than I ever thought I could be and I value my body now instead of resenting it (thick thighs save lives and all that!). 

More than losing weight  

The benefits of FORM are way more than losing weight or learning exercise techniques though. There are so many benefits I didn’t know were possible like my RHR dropping from 70+ to low 50s and my mobility is improving massively! 

I honestly used to believe that you are either born flexible or you’re not (or you invest lots of time and effort into yoga and that is how you get more flexible) …. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong!  

Skills for life 

FORM is different from other gyms because it’s like investing in a university degree! It’s an education and gives you skills for life.

I signed up for one camp to learn the tricks and 2 years later I now have Stockholm Syndrome and I can’t bring myself to train anywhere else. I can’t imagine planning what to do in a gym 3 times a week, never mind turning up and all the machines being free when I need them!

Good habits and natural remedies 

I joined FORM about a week after I agreed with my GP it was time to come off my antidepressants. I wanted to start creating some healthy habits and get back to looking and feeling like myself again.

But if I’m honest, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it without medication. 

One of my best friends told me she’d started working with a great trainer (Libby!) and that I should join FORM, I’d love it. 
 
I haven’t looked back since. 

Building confidence and motivation

Depression is often deep-rooted with self-doubt and self-criticism, but FORM has helped me in so many ways over the years. 

They’ve helped me get stronger, lift heavier and feel healthier; but most of all, FORM has helped me build confidence in my own abilities. 

Beating personal bests 

Nothing is ever too daunting with the right motivation and support around you, and I genuinely always look forward to seeing what I can do next, and what I’m capable of. Plus, FORM always makes sure we’re having a lot of fun along the way. 
 
Working out isn’t just about exercising, it’s also about investing in yourself, creating healthy routines and adding balance to busy lives. I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been and FORM has played a huge part in that.
